Travel

Everything you need to know about getting to and around Oaxaca.

Accommodations

We have specifically chosen Quinta Real as our home base for the celebration. To ensure convenience and to simplify local travel, we request that all guests book their accommodations within our designated block. You can email Luis at lramirez@quintareal.com and request to book a room within the block for "Wedding: Anna Ning & Sebastian Bibat." Rooms must be booked prior to December 1st to take advantage of the room block rate. Rooms must be booked for a minimum of two nights (February 26th and 27th). We strongly encourage you to book ASAP as we cannot guarantee room type availability (e.g., 1 King bed vs two full beds).

If you would like to extend your stay, the room block rate is also available the 2 nights before and after the wedding festivities (i.e., February 24th through March 1st).

If the designated hotel accommodations are a stretch for any reason, please get in touch with Sebastian or Anna directly. We are more than happy to chat privately about making arrangements to ensure you can be part of our day.

Flight Recommendations

Direct flights from the US to Oaxaca are available via LAX, IAH, and DFW. We strongly recommend that you book your flight early to ensure the best rates.

Getting to the Hotel from the Airport

We recommend that you take a taxi from the airport (Uber and Lyft are not available in Oaxaca). Once you clear customs but before you exit the airport, there will be two taxi stands immediately to your right. Simply tell the booking clerk that you are going to the Quinta Real hotel. You can choose to either go with the "collectivo" taxis, which are shared shuttles from the airport into town, or book a private van. The collectivo vans should be a flat rate of ~MXN 135, or ~USD 8, per person to get to the hotel. The ride duration should be 20–30 minutes.

Getting to the Airport from the Hotel

Ask the front desk at Quinta Real to call you a taxi to the airport. The driver should charge a flat fee per car of ~MXN 350 or ~USD 20.

Getting Around Town

Downtown Oaxaca is very walkable and safe. You will likely be able to explore the majority of the downtown by foot, but taxis are also easy to flag down. If you're looking for recommendations, check out Our Oaxaca Favorites for some of our picks!

FAQ

Can I bring a date?
We would love to have everyone join us, but to keep our celebration intimate and within our venue's limits, we can only accommodate the plus ones specifically noted on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
Can I bring my children?
We would love to have your family celebrate with us, but we have specifically tailored each invitation to reflect venue capacity. Please refer to your digital invitation for the guest count and specific invitees for your household. If you believe that there are circumstances that require flexibility, please reach out to Anna and Sebastian directly.
Do I need to bring pesos?
We recommend having some small bills on hand to tip your housekeeper. They will accept USD but MXN is ideal. If you plan on purchasing anything from small market stalls, roadside vendors, etc., it is best to have pesos. Your local bank will usually offer the best FX rates, but you can always exchange cash at the airport or at any big multinational bank in downtown Oaxaca like BBVA, Santander, etc. That being said, almost all brick-and-mortar businesses will accept credit card payments.
What is the weather like?
Expect it to be dry and sunny, with highs in the mid-80s and lows in the low-50s. Evenings and early mornings tend to be cool, so bring a jacket!
Is Oaxaca safe?
Yes! We wouldn't dream of hosting our favorite people in a place where we didn't feel comfortable. Statistically, Oaxaca remains one of the safest states in Mexico. In fact, many are surprised to learn that Oaxaca City's violent crime rate is significantly lower than that of many major U.S. cities. Like any vibrant city, we recommend using the same "common sense" you would in New York or London — stick to well-lit areas at night and keep an eye on your belongings.
What is the dress code?
Please see our Schedule section for event-specific attire. In addition, please note that Oaxaca streets are cobblestoned and that the ceremony will take place on grass. For the ladies, we recommend avoiding stilettos to ensure you can dance throughout the night!
When should I RSVP by?
We kindly request that all RSVPs be submitted by December 1st, 2026.
I have other questions!
